Buying & selling books by quoting dealers' want lists and ads in the pages of trade journals such as the "AB Bookman's Weekly" was a mainstay of the used book business prior to the advent of the internet. Perhaps not surprisingly relations between quoters & quotees could become strained at times & a book which discussed issues in book quoting dispassionately would have been a helpful addition to a bookseller's reference library. This was not such a book.
