Wraparound dust wrapper art by Frank Hazell. New York: Scribner's, 1942. 8vo. Orange cloth, stamped in brown. 323 p. 1st edition. Fine in d.w. which is fine save for minor edgewear. [96870]

According to the jacket blurb, this is a "folk novel in which the principal characters are native Indians and Mexicans in the little town of Sangre de Cristo in Taos Valley, New Mexico." This is said to be the first volume of a tetralogy but it would appear that the other three volumes were never published.
