Jones , who is identified as a Professor of Medical Physics and Physiology at U.C. Berkeley, is not given to understatement: "The morbid statistics on drug users are staggering. Probably a hundred thousand young people have been killed by drugs or the hazards encountered while on hallucinatory trips; greater numbers have been converted into mental cripples unable to break the continuing irrationalities which probably result from major disruption of the memory banks by hallucination... Of the twenty-five percent of all young people who now chronically use marijuana, half will be using heroin within a year and a half...," and so on.
