BENEFACTOR

Vol. 3, No. 16 (1944). Folded once horizonally & once vertically, paper browning, just beginning to separate where folds cross; else very good. [94009]

Tabloid newspaper devoted to the philosophy of Alfred Lawson. This issue contains the lead article by Lawson, "A New Species Must Be Developed on Earth to Save Man from Degeneration" followed by the admonition: "Unless you know these things you are not educated." We are told that the "Benefactor" had a circulation of more than 10,000,000 copies and that "allowing five readers for each copy averages about 50,000,000 readers of the Benefactor." Inasmuch as the population of the United States was about 138,000,000 in 1944 this means that more than 36% of the American people read the "Benefactor" at that time!
