Martin Eden
New York: Madison Publishing Company, ca. 1948. 12mo. Blue cloth, stamped in gilt. 411 p. Fine in lightly worn, price clipped d.w. [92007]
The Madison Publishing Company was a venue for marketing unsold copies of the Daily Worker Jack London editions of the late-1930s. They are identical except the Madison copies have new tipped-in title pages & half-titles and have dust wrappers. The presence of these has preserved the bindings, at least in this instance, in a bright, fresh condition. Copies of the Daily Workers editions are usually encountered well-worn because of the cheap nature of their bindings.
Price: $75.00
