The Delmo Housing Corporation took over nine housing projects for homeless field hands and sharecroppers in southeastern Missouri from the Resettlement Administration. The Corporation began "selling these houses, on a non-profit basis, to the present occupants." The housing projects were strictly segregated at this time.
