James H. Ames, Prohibition Nominee for Governor of Maine, and Family
No place: Self-published, ca. 1900s. 5 5/8 x 3 1/2 in. Post card. Postmarked Old Orchard, Maine on Sept. 24th, year not stated. Very good.
The b/w photographic image is a posed picture of Ames, his wife and their seven children. The text on the verso sets forth the menace posed by saloons. We are told that: "A vote for Mr. Ames is a vote to save the children; and its influence will be felt all over the land, even if he is not elected." The sender of the card has written in the margin: "If I vote, shall vote for Mr. Ames and family"
