Details Callison's experiences when he appeared for induction at the Oakland Induction Center on November 17, 1966 where he, while attempting to circulate an anti-war petition, was arrested for disturbing the peace by the O.P.D. After being forcibly removed from the induction center he was subsequently arrested for refusing induction. The trial judge, George B. Harris, found him guilty. According to Callison: "Judge Harris's legal reasoning was quite imaginative. While not denying that in fact I did not refuse induction, he said," 'I don't think you had any intention of submitting to induction.' This surely sets an historic legal precedent, that a person can be convicted not for what he does but for what a judge thinks he intends to do"
