"The Statement adopted by the Northern California District Chicano Commission regarding the use of the term 'Hispanic' was discussed by the District Convention. It was unanimously accepted in the sense of a contribution to the further development of our Party's understanding of the struggle for national liberation of Chicano, Mejicano, Central American, South American, and Caribbean peoples, and the Convention voted to submit it to the National Convention as a contribution to the deliberations around these questions"
