Suggestions for Survival

St. Paul: The Wanderer Press, ca. early-1960s. Narrow 8vo. Wraps. 8 p. [58737]

Contains a series of 30 suggestions as to what to do in the event of a nuclear war ranging from "live in a state of sanctifying grace" to "take refuge in the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary." In the event of a Communist victory in nuclear war one is urged to "arm yourself with the Holy Ghost, the aid of Mary, the spirit of the ancient martyrs. If you cannot physically resist the godless enemy, then at least resist with all your moral power their efforts to make you betray God and country by apostasy, immorality, defection, or treason. The sufferings you may have to endure will likely be extreme, but Christ will make them bearable. Resign yourself to whatever death may be in store for you." The reader is also reminded that in the "aftermath of nuclear war, base and savage instincts may possibly be unleashed"
