Collection of 57 photos and a three-page holograph nursing song dating from ca. 1898-1902. Most show uniformed nurses who worked or trained at the Homeopathic Sanitarium in San Francisco. Also included are photos of nurses' homes at 2110 Sutter Street & at 1944 Larkin Street. Most of the photos have the names pencilled on the verso. About half have been removed from a scrapbook. The song, "Sanitarium Days" (to be sung to the tune of "In the Good Old Summer Time"), which may be by the Misses Tannahill & Peterson (it is difficult to decipher) gives a humorous view of life at the Sanitarium - one stanza deals with the operating room where "Your life meets a horrible doom!/ Keep a stiff upper lip/ Tears won't help you a bit/ In the operating room!"
