TLs to William McDevitt on Sinclair's letterhead

[39181]

Brief letter deals with an unnamed book (from the context it would appear to be "Upton Sinclair Presents William Fox") which Sinclair published. McDevitt, the San Francisco Socialist orator and antiquarian bookseller, apparently had complained about the price of the book. Sinclair responds that: "I am incurring heavy expense with this book, and am running a great risk, and I thought that I would let the moving picture people and the Wall Street crowd, who must have this book, pay me back my costs. Later on I will reduce the price. Meantime, do the best you can and do not say anything about this"

Price: $100.00
