Contributors included Thomas Bell, Dalton Trumbo, John Howard Lawson, Langston Hughes, Lance Jeffers, Meridel Le Sueur, Theodore Ward, Millard Lampell, Isidor Schneider, Alexander Saxton, Stefan Heym, Anna Seghers, Howard Fast, Ben Field, Nicolas Guillen, Thomas McGrath, Philip Evergood, Edwin Rolfe, Eve Merriam, et al. Its logo was designed by Rockwell Kent.
