GAY LITERATURE: A NEW JOURNAL

No. 1 (Winter, 1975) & No. 2 (Spring, 1975). Front cover of first issue darkened at fore-edge; else very good. [109519]

Journal edited in Fresno, Calif. by Daniel Curzon. Laid in the second issue is a TLs from John Martin (signed "John") on a Black Sparrow Press letterhead to a book collector (only identified by a first name) which reads: "You should put this magazine in your Oates collection. So far as I know, the story 'Hatred' is the first roman a clef about Oates. It's not very good creative writing, but it's sure fascinating as a piece of slander. Be sure to read it." Indeed, "Hatred," written by Curzon himself is an 18-page story which concerns one "Joan Cheryl Holmes," an "Olive Oyl woman," who is treated unsympathetically and ends up being bludgeoned to death.
