Racist stories in dialect such as "Real Discernment" in which "Sambo" is denied the right to register to vote because he is unable to define "aurora borealis." Frazer treats this denial of democratic rights in a humorous fashion. In his foreword he states that he "intends no reflection whatever upon any race whose dialect is used."
