Your Heritage; or, New England Threatened

Price: $125.00

Nativist tract, written by the President of the French Protestant College, which warns of the threat posed to New England by the allegedly unassimilable and prolific French-Canadian immigrants, who are said to owe primary allegiance to the Papacy. A tipped-in note states that the "typographical work of this book was performed by some of the young men of the College during their spare moments. They had type enough to set only ten pages at a time. These had to be carried down to the city, electrotyped, brought back to the College and distributed. The process was patiently repeated until the two hundred and forty pages were set." The note further apologizes for numerous typos and for "two pages which are sadly defective"
